These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the Sortid website (getsortid.com), our WhatsApp booking channel, and our home-cook services (collectively, the “Services”). The Services are operated by Stoiq Food And Beverages Pvt. Ltd., incorporated under the laws of India, with registered office at Q-157, South City II, Sector 49, Gurugram, Haryana, India (“Sortid”, “we”, “us”, “our”).
By using the Services — including by booking a cook through our WhatsApp channel — you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and our Cancellation & Refund Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
This document is an electronic record under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and does not require a physical signature.
1. About Sortid
Sortid connects customers in Sector 49, Gurugram (and other areas we may add) with trained, verified, independent home cooks who arrive at your home to cook a meal. Sortid acts as an intermediary and aggregator that facilitates bookings between you and independent cooks. The cooks are not employees of Sortid. While we verify and assess cooks, the cooking service is performed by the cook, and you engage them through our platform.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and capable of entering into a legally binding contract under Indian law to use the Services. By using the Services you confirm that you meet these requirements and that the information you provide is accurate.
3. How Bookings Work
- You join our WhatsApp community channel and post a booking request stating your preferred date, time, and duration (slot).
- Our team reviews your request and confirms an available cook, usually within minutes. We share the cook’s name before they leave for your home.
- A verified cook arrives at your home — typically within 15 minutes of confirmation during operating hours — ready to cook.
Operating hours are currently 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM, seven days a week. Arrival times are estimates and may vary due to demand, distance, traffic, weather, or other factors outside our control.
4. Scope of the Cooking Service
Unless otherwise agreed, a booking includes, for the duration of the slot:
- Cooking Indian home-style meals to your menu;
- Washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables for the meal;
- Kneading dough and making rotis / chapatis / parathas;
- Rice, dal, and basic curry preparation, with standard home-style tadka and seasoning;
- Transferring cooked food into your bowls / containers;
- Cleaning the kitchen slab and cooking area used, and disposing of vegetable peels.
The following are not included: grocery shopping or ingredient procurement; pre-soaking pulses (rajma, chole, etc. must be soaked before the cook arrives); washing utensils used during cooking; cleaning the rest of the kitchen (sink, fridge, chimney, floor); baking or anything requiring an oven; and grinding wet/dry masalas from raw ingredients.
5. Your Responsibilities
You agree to:
- Provide groceries and washed vegetables, and pre-soak pulses where required, before the cook arrives;
- Provide a safe, hygienic, and functional kitchen with working equipment and ingredients;
- Treat the cook with respect and dignity, and ensure a safe environment free from harassment;
- Be reachable and present (or arrange access) at the booked time;
- Disclose anything that may affect the cook’s safety or the service;
- Pay all applicable Fees through the channels we specify; and
- Not solicit, hire, or pay any Sortid cook directly outside the platform for a period of 12 months after your last booking.
6. Pricing & Payment
Our current slots are:

Fees are payable per booking through the methods we specify (e.g. UPI, card, or as otherwise communicated on WhatsApp). Prices may change from time to time; the price applicable to your booking is the price confirmed at the time of booking. You agree to pay all Fees for confirmed bookings, subject to our Cancellation & Refund Policy.
7. Cancellations & Refunds
Cancellations, rescheduling, and refunds are governed by our Cancellation & Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
8. Cook Verification & Conduct
Every cook is Aadhaar verified, background checked, and personally assessed before taking bookings. While we take verification seriously, you acknowledge that cooks are independent professionals and that Sortid does not guarantee the outcome, taste, or quantity of any meal. If you are not satisfied, contact us promptly (Section 13) and we will work to make it right.
9. Reviews & User Content
You may submit reviews, ratings, photos, or feedback. By doing so, you grant Sortid a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual licence to use, display, and reproduce that content for operating and promoting the Services. You are responsible for the content you submit and must not post anything unlawful, defamatory, or infringing.
10. Intellectual Property
The Sortid name, logo, website, content, and design are owned by or licensed to Stoiq Food And Beverages Pvt. Ltd. You are granted a limited, non-transferable licence to use the Services for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, modify, or exploit our intellectual property without permission.
11. Prohibited Conduct
You must not: use the Services for any unlawful purpose; misrepresent your identity; harass or endanger a cook; book on behalf of a competitor; attempt to circumvent payment; or interfere with the operation or security of the Services.
12. Disclaimers
The Services are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any cook will meet your specific expectations.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sortid and Stoiq Food And Beverages Pvt. Ltd. shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages. Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to any booking shall not exceed the total Fees paid by you for that specific booking, or ₹6,000, whichever is lower.
14. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Sortid, Stoiq Food And Beverages Pvt. Ltd., and its officers and personnel from any claims, losses, or expenses arising out of your use of the Services, your breach of these Terms, or your interaction with a cook.
15. Suspension & Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services at any time, with or without notice, if you breach these Terms, misuse the Services, or for reasons of safety or legal compliance. Sections relating to intellectual property, liability, indemnity, and dispute resolution survive termination.
16. Force Majeure
We are not liable for any failure or delay in performance caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, strikes, outages, government action, or public-health emergencies.
17. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to the arbitration clause below, the courts at Gurugram, Haryana shall have exclusive jurisdiction. Any dispute arising out of these Terms shall first be attempted to be resolved amicably; failing which, it shall be referred to arbitration by a sole arbitrator under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, seated at Gurugram, Haryana, conducted in English.
18. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The revised version will be posted on this page with a new “Last reviewed” date. Continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
