This Privacy Policy explains how Sortid (“Sortid”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), a service operated by Stoiq Food And Beverages Pvt. Ltd., a company incorporated under the laws of India with its registered office at Q-157, South City II, Sector 49, Gurugram, Haryana, India, collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal data when you use our website (getsortid.com), our WhatsApp booking channel, and our home-cook services (collectively, the “Services”).
By using the Services, you agree to the practices described in this Policy. This Policy should be read together with our Terms & Conditions and Cancellation & Refund Policy.
This document is an electronic record under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made thereunder, and is published in accordance with the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (“DPDP Act”).
1. Scope
This Policy applies to personal data we process about customers, prospective customers, and visitors who interact with Sortid through our website, WhatsApp, phone, email, or in person during a booking. It does not apply to the independent cooks who provide services through Sortid, who are covered by separate arrangements.
2. Personal Data We Collect
We collect the following categories of data:
- Identity & contact data: your name, mobile number, WhatsApp number, email address, and delivery/service address.
- Booking data: the date, time, duration, and slot you request; preferred cook (if any); dietary or menu preferences you share; and your service history.
- Transaction data: records of payments, slots booked, add-ons, and amounts charged. We do not store your full card or bank details (see Section 7).
- Communications data: messages you send us over WhatsApp, email, or phone, and any feedback, ratings, or reviews you provide.
- Technical & usage data: IP address, device and browser type, and pages visited, collected automatically when you use our website.
We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal data beyond what is necessary to deliver the Services.
3. How We Collect Personal Data
- Directly from you — when you message us on WhatsApp, place a booking, contact support, or fill in a form on our website.
- Automatically — through cookies and similar technologies when you visit getsortid.com (see Section 6).
- From third parties — such as verification partners used to confirm bookings.
4. How We Use Your Personal Data
We use your personal data to:
- Create and manage your bookings and match you with a verified cook.
- Confirm bookings and communicate cook details, timing, and arrival updates.
- Process payments and issue refunds where applicable.
- Provide customer support and resolve disputes or complaints.
- Verify identity and prevent fraud, misuse, or abuse of the Services.
- Improve our Services, website, and cook allocation.
- Send you service-related and, with your consent, promotional communications.
- Comply with applicable law and respond to lawful requests from authorities.
We process your data on the basis of your consent and/or to perform our contract with you, and as otherwise permitted under the DPDP Act.
5. How We Share & Disclose Your Personal Data
We share personal data only as needed to run the Services:
- With cooks: we share your name, address, contact number, and booking details with the assigned cook so they can reach you and perform the service.
- With service providers: WhatsApp Business / messaging infrastructure, website hosting, and analytics providers (such as Google Analytics), who process data on our behalf under appropriate safeguards.
- For verification: with partners who help us verify cook credentials and, where relevant, booking authenticity.
- For legal reasons: with courts, regulators, or law-enforcement authorities where required by law, or to protect our rights, users, or the public.
- In a business transfer: if Sortid or Stoiq Food And Beverages Pvt. Ltd. is involved in a merger, acquisition, restructuring, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred to the successor entity, subject to this Policy.
We do not sell your personal data.
6. Cookies & Analytics
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to keep the site functioning, remember your preferences, and understand how the site is used. With your consent, we use Google Analytics 4 (a service provided by Google) to measure traffic and understand which channels visitors arrive from; it sets cookies and may process limited usage data such as your IP address, device/browser type, and the pages you visit. Analytics cookies load only after you accept them via the consent banner shown on your first visit, and you can decline or change your choice at any time through that banner or your browser settings. Disabling some cookies may affect site functionality.
7. Payments
Payments for bookings are currently collected directly over our WhatsApp channel (for example, by UPI or cash). We do not operate an online card-payment gateway on this website, and we do not store your card, UPI, or bank details on Sortid’s servers. If we introduce an online payment processor in future, we will update this Policy to name the provider and describe how your payment data is handled.
8. Data Retention
We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to provide the Services, comply with our legal, tax, and regulatory obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When data is no longer required, we delete or anonymise it.
9. Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures — including access controls and encryption in transit — to protect your personal data. No method of transmission or storage is fully secure; you are responsible for keeping any account or device used to access the Services protected.
10. Your Rights
Subject to applicable law, including the DPDP Act, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Erase your data, subject to legal retention requirements.
- Withdraw consent to processing or marketing at any time.
- Grievance redressal — raise concerns with our Grievance Officer (Section 13).

11. Children
The Services are intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Third-Party Links
Our website or messages may link to third-party sites or services. We are not responsible for their privacy practices; please review their policies separately.

This Policy is governed by the laws of India. Any disputes are subject to the jurisdiction described in our Terms & Conditions.
